We announced last year that all proceeds from our tournament are now awarded annually to a student from each of our two high schools on the Peninsula. We received over 40 applications from many qualified and 'need-based' students and it was not an easy decision in choosing this year's winners.
The recipients of the proceeds from 2010 were Jesse Chou, Palos Verdes Peninsula High School and Victoria Arnold, Palos Verdes High School.
Jesse will be attending Amherst College and Victoria will attend UC Davis. They both attended our dinner and thanked everyone for helping make their goals possible.
This is the 8th year in a row, that due to the continued support of our players, sponsors and donors, we have awarded this scholarship in honor of Jaime Frantz, a University of Colorado at Boulder student who was killed in a November 2001 hit-and-run accident. Jaime was one month away from graduating from the Leeds School of Business when she was tragically taken from us.
Jaime's parents, Lee and Sue Frantz, and her brother Chris with the help of Jaime's friends and family, organized a golf tournament in Southern California in 2003 to raise money and coordinated the development of the scholarship. The tournament is held annually and sells out each year.
